Complementary feed for horses
Calm Mg is a liquid magnesium-based supplement. Calm Mg supports the horse's mental well-being by optimizing magnesium levels in the body, thus reducing stress and anxiety.
When to use it
Calm Mg is a liquid feed supplement that provides horses with highly available sources of magnesium. It can be useful for young horses, who struggle during the initial stages of competition, especially indoor events. It can also be useful for adult horses, which, due to low magnesium levels, can be more nervous and difficult to manage.
Properties of its elements
Being involved in more than 300 different metabolic reactions, magnesium is a very important mineral in the world of nutrition (45). Energy production in cells, the synthesis of nucleic acids, muscle contraction and nerve conduction depend on the presence of magnesium. However, in nature not all magnesium salts have the same bioavailability for the body. For this reason, Unika has chosen three raw materials with very high magnesium bioavailability: magnesium citrate, magnesium aspartate and magnesium chloride. These salts are completely soluble in water and for this reason they are more easily absorbed by the body than salts that are poorly or not at all soluble, such as magnesium oxide. Magnesium is, in fact, absorbed by the small intestine and the colon: the efficiency of absorption therefore depends on the solubility of its salt in intestinal fluids. Studies on humans have demonstrated that magnesium is capable of exerting neuroprotective effects (45) and that it is used in the production of ATP, the body's fuel. It can therefore be said that magnesium has an energizing effect.
Instructions for use
Use 50-100 g of Calm Mg daily, appropriately incorporated into the daily diet (a small coffee cup contains approximately 70 g). The product has a syrupy consistency and is highly palatable to horses. The recommended duration of use is at least 30-40 consecutive days. We advise Calm Mg users not to exceed the daily dose, as magnesium salts have a mild laxative effect.
(Given the specificity of each individual organism, it is always good practice to test new food products, gradually introducing them into the horse's diet to evaluate their tolerance).
