Complementary feed for horses intended for specific nutritional purposes – compensation for electrolyte losses in case of heavy sweating
Elyte Fast comes in liquid format, easy and convenient to use even during competitions, especially during Endurance competitions.
When to use it
Elyte Fast is a complementary feed for use during warmer seasons, when horses tend to sweat more. Elyte Fast is also useful during times when horses lose more sweat, such as during intense training, competitions, and long treks. It's also very convenient for endurance races, as it can be added to the water during checks and gates.
Properties of its elements
Aspartates have been included in the Elyte Fast formulation because these substances, once ingested, release electrolytes and aspartic acid into the body. Aspartic acid is a glycogenic amino acid capable of promoting energy production through the Krebs cycle and improving physical activity. In particular, potassium and magnesium salts allow the body to save muscle glycogen and stimulate its re-synthesis (59). Elyte Fast also contains L-glycine, the simplest of the known amino acids, which accelerates the entry of electrolyte salts into the cells and plays a primary role in the synthesis of proteins, ATP, glutathione and glycogen: for this reason it is considered a new antioxidant (4).
Instructions for use
Use 10 cl (= 100 ml) of Elyte Fast per day, the amount corresponding to the first notch on the measuring cup. Increase the daily dose to 25 cl (= 250 ml) during prolonged exercise and/or in high ambient temperatures. Suitable for horses with heavy sweating. Water is recommended. Elyte Fast can be added to drinking water or mixed into the daily feed.
Recommended period of use: 1 to 3 days after heavy sweating.
(Given the specificity of each individual organism, it is always good practice to test new food products, gradually introducing them into the horse's diet to evaluate their tolerance).
