Description
THERMOBOOT is a special resting boot belonging to the Therapeutic Line and specifically developed for the application of cold/hot therapies directly on the horse's tendons and joints. Made in Neoprene with an aluminum thermal coating to insulate more and prolong the cold/hot effect, this boot includes a 3D-Mesh padding that allows an optimal cold/heat transfer and protection of the horse's skin from burns. Regular use of THERMOBOOT for short periods (20-30 minutes) after intense exercise can help prevent minor injuries and/or trauma to ligaments, tendons and joints, as well as reduce swelling, overheating and localized pain. Cold therapy allows vasoconstriction, reduces proteolytic enzymatic activity, decreases the influence of inflammatory processes and toxins and provides pain relief to recover the circulatory conditions following exertion. The sooner the temperature of the tendons can be reduced after exercise, the better the result. THERMOBOOT can also help treat bruises, sprains, injuries, strains and damage to tendons and joints. Heat therapy is ideal for promoting blood flow to a specific area of the body, eliminating residual inflammation, promoting the influx of nutrients and, consequently, healing. Heat can also be beneficial before exercise and for horses suffering from arthritis. The application of heat can increase soft tissue elasticity, flexibility and muscle range of motion during exercise. The heat also acts as a temporary pain reliever, reducing pain. Heat should be introduced gradually into your horse's post-injury recovery regimen to prevent too much heat, too soon, from causing bleeding. Alternating between heat and cold therapy, gradually increasing the time you use the heat and decreasing the time you use the cold at each session, will allow you to use only heat therapy at its best. It is important to take a progressive approach to getting your horse used to cold/heat therapy to get the full benefits of the treatment.
